GeoTurn Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how GeoTurn handles information when you use the App.

1. Summary

GeoTurn is a serverless iOS game that relies on Apple services (Game Center, iCloud, CloudKit, StoreKit, MapKit) and Google AdMob for rewarded ads. We do not operate our own backend servers.

2. Information We Use

The App uses the following categories of information:

2.1 Game Center Identity

  • Game Center display name
  • Game Center player ID
  • Game Center avatar (player photo)

2.2 Gameplay Data

  • Match state and turn data (rounds, scores, guesses, timestamps, match status)
  • In-game locations and guesses (coordinates you choose within the game)
  • Match history records (opponent name/ID, scores, outcome, timestamp)
  • Player stats (Elo, wins, matches, daily match count)
  • Block list (Game Center player IDs)

2.3 Purchases

  • Pro entitlement state stored in the iOS Keychain

2.4 Abuse Reports

  • Hashed reporter and reportee Game Center IDs
  • Report reason (a fixed in-app reason code)
  • Timestamp

2.5 Ads (Rewarded Video)

If you choose to watch rewarded ads, Google AdMob may collect device information (such as IP address, device identifiers, and ad interaction data) to serve and measure ads. We do not receive or store these identifiers ourselves. Where required, we show a consent message and provide a way to change ad consent settings in the app.

3. What We Do Not Collect

  • We do not request or access your device's precise location.
  • We do not collect contacts, photos, or microphone data.
  • We do not run third-party analytics SDKs beyond the ad SDK for rewarded ads.

4. How We Use Information

We use information to:

  • Authenticate you with Game Center
  • Run matches and compute scores
  • Sync stats and match history across your devices via iCloud
  • Show leaderboards via Game Center
  • Enforce fair play and handle abuse reports
  • Deliver and reward optional ads

5. Where Data Is Stored

  • Game Center match data and leaderboards are stored by Apple.
  • iCloud Key-Value Store syncs stats, block list, and match history across your devices.
  • Local match history is stored on your device in Application Support storage.
  • Keychain stores Pro entitlement state and round timer data.
  • Abuse reports are stored in Apple CloudKit Public Database with hashed identifiers.
  • Ad data is handled by Google AdMob.

6. Sharing of Information

We share information only as necessary to provide the App:

  • With Apple (Game Center, iCloud, CloudKit, StoreKit, MapKit/Look Around)
  • With Google AdMob for rewarded ads
  • With match opponents through Game Center (your display name, avatar, scores, and guesses as part of match data)

7. Data Retention

  • Match history is capped at 100 records on-device and in iCloud sync.
  • iCloud and Game Center data persists until you delete it via Apple settings or remove the App.
  • Abuse reports are retained for moderation and safety purposes.

8. Your Choices

  • You can sign out of Game Center in iOS Settings.
  • You can disable iCloud for the App in iOS Settings.
  • You can reset or limit ad tracking in iOS Settings and choose whether to allow tracking when prompted.
  • You can update ad consent in the app via the Ads & Privacy settings section.
  • You can delete the App to remove local data. iCloud data can be removed via Apple settings.

9. Children

The App is not directed to children under 13.

10. Changes

We may update this Privacy Policy. We will update the effective date and, if changes are material, provide notice within the App or through the App Store listing.
