No personal data collected

Introduction

PokeZoneBuddy ("we," "our," or "us") is built with privacy as a core principle. This Privacy Policy explains what data the app stores, how it is used, and your rights regarding that data.

The short version: we do not collect, store, or transmit any personal information. All user data stays on your device (and, optionally, in your own private iCloud account).

Information We Store

PokeZoneBuddy stores only data you create yourself, entirely locally on your device using Apple's SwiftData framework:

We never ask for your name, email address, phone number, or location. No account is required.

Data Storage & iCloud Sync

All app data is stored locally on your device using SwiftData. PokeZoneBuddy also supports iCloud sync via Apple CloudKit, which lets your cities, spots, plans, and preferences sync seamlessly across your iPhone, iPad, and Mac.

When iCloud sync is enabled:

If iCloud is disabled, all data remains solely on the local device.

Third-Party Services

PokeZoneBuddy makes a single network request to fetch public event data:

All other external links in the app (e.g., to LeekDuck.com or GitHub) open in your browser and are not API calls — no data is sent.

No Analytics or Tracking

We do not use any analytics, crash reporting, advertising, or user-tracking services. There is no Firebase, Sentry, Mixpanel, Amplitude, AdMob, or similar SDK in the app. Your usage is completely private.

No Account Required

PokeZoneBuddy works without an account, login, or registration. We never receive any personal identifiers, and there is no way for us to identify you as a user.

Notifications

If you enable event reminders, the app schedules local notifications using Apple's UNUserNotificationCenter framework. These notifications are generated entirely on your device — no data is sent to a server, and no external push notification service is used. You can revoke notification permission at any time in your device's Settings app.

Calendar Integration (macOS)

On macOS, you may export Pokémon GO event windows directly to your Calendar app. This requires write-only access to your calendar via Apple's EventKit framework. The app writes new events only — it does not read, access, or store any existing calendar data. You can revoke this permission at any time in System Settings → Privacy & Security → Calendars.

Import & Export

You can export your cities, spots, and timeline plans as JSON files for backup or transfer to another device. These files are created locally and shared via your chosen app (Mail, Files, etc.) — entirely under your control. We do not receive or have access to any exported data.

Children's Privacy

PokeZoneBuddy is rated 4+ on the App Store. The app does not collect any personal information from users of any age. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13.

Your Data Rights

Because we never receive your data, there is nothing for us to delete on our end. There are no servers to contact.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted here with an updated revision date. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
